"Shipwrecks belong to everyone" - Society of Marine Explorers U.K.

Our Mission: We are dedicated to the preservation of our maritime heritage through proper archaeological examination of shipwrecks.

These time-capsules offer a glimpse into our past but only if painstakingly examined without the time constraints of a commercial venture. Your donations ensure that historically significant shipwrecks are not plundered for the profit of a few individuals. All items we recover are the property of the country whose flag the vessel bore.

Our Research vessel "Polar Prince" is a safe, stable platform from which we deploy the latest in sensing, mapping and recovery technology. We are a floating test-bed for new technology including bio-fuel, hydrogen fuel-cell, solar and wind power generation which lessens our carbon footprint.
Our expeditions will be broadcast on National Geographic, Discovery and History channels reaching an estimated audience of 40 million viewers. Corporate sponsors benefit from this exposure and their placement of corporate logos aboard ship will assist in defraying expenses.

We invite under-graduate students of Nautical Archaeology to work with us aboard ship to gain experience in their chosen field of endeavour. Our shipboard archaeological team is led by Jonathan Kyte (Master's in Nautical Archaeology) and consultants include Ian Oxley of British Heritage and Robert Grenier of Parks Canada.
